Gabbeh rugs are the thick-pile, tribal weavings of the Qashqai and Luri nomads of southwest Persia. This collection features hand-knotted Gabbehs with plush wool pile, abstract motifs, and warm, saturated colors drawn from natural dyes.
Gabbeh — meaning "raw" or "natural" — describes a coarser, more spontaneous weave than fine city carpets. Designs are improvised by the weaver, often featuring simple animal figures, lattices, and bold fields of color, giving every Gabbeh a one-of-a-kind, almost folk-art character.
Their deep, soft pile makes Gabbehs some of the most comfortable rugs to walk and sit on — ideal for bedrooms, family rooms, and reading nooks. Each piece is hand-inspected, shipped white-glove anywhere in the U.S., and includes a certificate of authenticity.
