"Persian" is an umbrella for centuries of distinct regional weaving traditions — Tabriz (very fine, medallion-floral), Kashan (silk-and-wool, classical), Heriz (bold geometrics), Bidjar (ultra-dense "iron rugs"), Isfahan and Nain (the finest knot counts in the world).
Important disclosure. Every piece in this collection is woven in the Persian tradition by master weavers in northern Afghanistan. We do not sell Iranian-woven rugs that have been smuggled or mis-labeled — that's industry-standard luxury practice and we disclose it on every product page.
Hand-knotted with the Senneh (Persian) knot, typically 140–200+ KPSI (Bidjar and Isfahan traditions push 250–500 KPSI in their finest examples). Wool pile on cotton foundation. A 9'×12' Persian can take 7 to 12 months to weave by hand. This is the most labor-intensive construction of any rug tradition we carry.
Best rooms: Formal living rooms, dining rooms with grand-scale furniture, libraries, primary suites in larger homes. The Persian is also the most likely of our traditions to appreciate in value if you choose a top-tier piece.
The Persian rotation moves quickly. Pieces clear inspection and ship to private clients within days. To be notified of new arrivals, apply to the Trade Program or call +1 857 313 9458. Read Behind the Loom for our provenance standard.
